At the Changi Safety Promotion held on 15 January 2016, staff from Galmon Academy imparted safe work practices for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) to more than 300 workers and site supervisors at the Changi East Development site!
The event is part of the Changi Safety Promotion campaign organised by the Changi Airport Group to educate the workforce and encourage safer work practices.
Galmon was one of seven exhibitors who was invited to participate in the Changi Safety Promotion! Other exhibitors included: Singapore Power, Changi Airport Emergency Services, Changi Airport Group Airside Operations etc.
Senior management from the Changi Airport Group, Ministry of Transport, and the contractors for the Changi East Development site also attended the event.
At Galmon’s booth, visitors learnt how to operate MEWPs safely, including how to conduct pre-start checks, observe safe operating procedures, and shutdown the machines properly.
After the demonstration, visitors were quizzed on what they have learnt!
Safety has always been at the core of what Galmon does and we are very glad to have the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event!
Covering more than 1,000 hectares, the Changi East Development site will include the future Changi Airport Terminal 5 and a three-runway system.
The site is currently undergoing ground improvement works and is expected to be ready in the mid-2020s.
