Galmon Pledges S$100,000 to the Needy

As part of its pearl jubilee celebration, Galmon has pledged to donate S$20,000 per year for the next five years (2012 to 2016; totaling S$100,000), towards South West Community Development Council (CDC) Meal Service Programme.

Named “Meal Service @ South West”, the programme is a collaboration among Galmon, South West CDC, and other Voluntary Work Organisations (VWOs) in the district to deliver meals to frail and immobile residents who are unable to prepare cooked meals at home due to physical or mental disabilities.

Galmon’s chief executive officer Mr Desmond Ong presented the S$100,000 cheque donation to South West District Mayor Dr Amy Khor at TOUCH Home Care (Jurong) on 25 July 2012.

In conjunction with the pledge, Galmon’s management team and employees also delivered meals to the needy households in Taman Jurong. Galmon employees will continue to deliver meals on a monthly basis.

“Galmon has come a long way since our humble beginnings as a company that started out with only three people and a fleet size of only six machines 30 years ago. Today, we are Singapore’s largest aerial work platform specialist with staff strength close to 200 and fleet size that’s close to 3,000. I am proud of this success as it gives us the ability to give back to the community. I hope that our contributions will ensure that the needy residents will not have to go hungry and have sufficient food to eat,” said Desmond.
