Galmon has pledged to contribute S$60,000 towards more than 3,000 household essentials packs for vulnerable families in the South West community over the next three years.
The packs include daily essentials such as detergent powder, bar soap and bathroom tissues – items which were selected based on feedback from the beneficiaries.
In addition to the donation, Galmon staff from different departments also came together to prepare the packs for the beneficiaries on 6 and 7 September 2016.
On 10 September 2016, members of Galmon’s management team presented the cheque to Ms Low Yen Ling, Mayor of South West Community Development Council (CDC). Together, they handed some of the packs to the beneficiaries who were present at the event.
As a homegrown enterprise and member of the South West district, Galmon is proud to do its part and reach out to the vulnerable residents in the community.
The South West Household Essentials Packs is a programme under the Food Connect @ South West initiative which provides holistic assistance to residents in need and complements their monthly food ration packs.
