Uplifting Lives: Galmon receives Caring Corporate Award for SMEs

The South West Community Development Council (CDC) presented Galmon with the inaugural South West Caring Corporate Award for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Galmon chief executive officer Mr Desmond Ong received the award from Mayor of the South West District Ms Low Yen Ling on 13 February 2019.

“No matter its size, every company, however big or small, can contribute to our society. This year’s inaugural awards for SMEs and first-time partners recognise the role they can play in strengthening and improving our community. The annual South West Caring Corporate Awards reflect the power of many helping hands coming together to uplift lives and making a difference. Our district has grown with the kindness and compassion of our partners, and we hope more companies will join us in creating a caring Singapore,” said Mayor Low.

Galmon has partnered South West CDC since 2012 in initiatives such as Meals Service @ South West and Food Connect @ South West.

Over the past seven years, our staff and management have worked hand-in-hand to deliver meals, recycle old clothes and e-waste in exchange for rice packs, as well as prepare household essential packs for the beneficiaries in the South West District.

“As a home-grown enterprise and member of the South West District, Galmon is proud to do its part for the vulnerable residents and build an inclusive community,” Desmond said.

Galmon will be continuing our commitment to give back to society by embarking on a new Adopt @ South West programme that provides social support to residents.
